Summary

Vendotainment was a Coca-Cola marketing project that I worked on through the Atlanta design firm, Studiocom. The concept is that of an interactive vending machine that attracts customers via rich media (music videos and character animation), automated prize giveaways, and a bit of fun. My job involved creation of a Director-based code shell to play and communicate with animated interactive Flash files controlled via information sent from a game prize database using ActiveX controls. Studiocom designers created all of the graphic design and animation elements.

Smooth playback and responsive interaction were the main challenges of this project. As a result of the coordinated efforts of several talented professionals, we were able to deliver an entertaining and functional product under tight deadlines. This project was field-tested on several vending machines on the Georgia Tech campus.
